System Requirements

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 11

 

Global Mapper:

  Minimum Recommended
CPU Intel 8th generation (or newer) CPU or comparable CPU Recent generation, high-performance multi-core CPU
Memory 8 GB 16 GB
Storage 1.5 GB SSD, or HDD SSD with sufficient space for data storage and processing
GPU Integrated graphics or dedicated GPU with support for OpenGL v4.5 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series (or newer) GPU or comparable workstation GPU
If installing Global Mapper virtual, cloud, or otherwise non-local instance of Windows all of the above Minimum System Requirements must be met. Licensing the application in such an environment requires a network license.
In order to use the 3D viewer via remote desktop the licensed machine must have a workstation graphics card. Network licenses, and Single User Floating licenses issued after May 2020 support remote desktop access via RDP. Other capabilities of the software will work via RDP without a workstation graphics card.

 

 

Pixels to Points photogrammetric processing:

This function requires Global Mapper Professional

GPU Integrated graphics or dedicated GPU with support for OpenGL v4.5 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series (or newer) GPU or comparable workstation GPU

*While Pixels to Points can run with 16GB, users should expect to need to lower the output Quality setting to "Normal" (instead of the default "High").

 

Deep Learning Analysis:

This function requires Global Mapper Professional

GPU Integrated graphics or dedicated GPU with support for CUDA 11.3 or newer NVIDIA RTX 30 series (or newer) GPU with 24 GB memory or comparable workstation GPU
CUDA Compute Capability (for CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPUs) 3.5 N/A
Downloading the Deep Learning Analysis will allow users to install all necessary models and support files. The download can be conducted via the Extra Downloads option during installation of Global Mapper, or from Configuration after the application is installed.

 

Python

The recommended Python version is also available with the Global Mapper installation through Additional Downloads.

 

Virtual Machines

Legacy licensing note: In order to run Global Mapper on a virtual machine with GM v27.0 or older, the application must be licensed through a Network License, and the virtual machine will need to be running Windows 10/Windows 11.

To ensure that Global Mapper can be licensed properly on a virtual machine, please contact technical support for further assistance.
