This page refers to licensing available for Geographic Calculator 2025 and older. For licensing the current version of Geographic Calculator, see Subscription Licensing.
Note the difference between Node-Locked Licenses and Floating Licenses. Check your order if you are unsure which you have purchased.
Node-Locked License
In order to transfer your existing license to a new machine, you will need to first remove the license from the current machine. This process will disable your current license and create a verification file that can be sent in to Blue Marble. This is necessary when either upgrading your software and moving to a new machine at the same time, or simply moving an existing version to a new machine.
To remove your single-user license:
-
Go to Help > License Manager
-
In the License Manager, click the Remove button.
-
A verification window will pop up, click Yes to remove the license or licenses from your machine.
-
Another window will display a verification code and a path to the verification file. You will need to send this file to: authorize@bluemarblegeo.com
-
Once you have sent in your verification file, you may request a license file for the new machine either by email to authorize@bluemarblegeo.com. You will need to install the software on the new machine and retrieve the Machine ID to request the new license.
Floating License
The single user floating license is a new node locked licensing option for Geographic Calculator, introduced for Geographic Calculator 2020. This license can be moved between machines, and also supports access via remote desktop protocol (RDP).
The single user floating license can be released from one machine, and re-licensed on another machine for an unlimited number of times during the maintenance period. This is most efficiently done using the online activation described in Legacy Online Licensing . To move the license, release it from the first machine, using the instructions in Legacy Single-User License Transfer, then use the online login and order number to activate it again on a new machine.
