The settings file stores preferences and Administrative settings used by the application. This includes elements like custom text file schemes, job preferences, and datasource filtering.
The settings file is a set of preferences and settings for the machine, but they can also be customized per user.
Network licenses require a signed setting file. This adds a digital signature to the settings file. The settings file must have a valid signature for the Geographic Calculator to work with a network license. This is the method that enforces Administrative Settings that have been locked-down for users by an administrator. A signed settings file is sent to the administrator with the network license file.
