Global Mapper provides a number of tools for modifying and analyzing terrain data. There are also tools for calculating information from terrain data based on vector features, and creating vector features from terrain data. Analysis methods for this type of data can also be applied to other raster data that contains values representing a measurement or phenomenon other than elevation, such as temperature, etc.
The Terrain Analysis Menu contains the following options.
-
Combine/ Compare Terrain Layers
- Count Overlapping Raster/Terrain/View Shed Layers
- Create Curvature Grid from Terrain Layer(s)
-
Create Elevation Grid from 3D Vector Data
- Calculate Relative Elevation Grid
