Global Mapper supports the import, export, and batch export of SketchUp (.skp) files.
Import
For more information on loading .skp files, see Working with 3D Models.
SketchUp files do not contain projection information. Upon import, Global mapper will prompt you for projection information. The default suggestion is Orthographic, but this depends on the projection the file was created in.
Global Mapper supports import of Sketchup version 2019 and older. Version 2020 and later are not supported for import.
Export
| This function requires Global Mapper Advanced |
Global Mapper can export vector and mesh data sets to a standard .SKP format file.
To export loaded elevation data to an SKP format, go to File > Export > Export 3D Format..., or right click on the layer in the Control Center and choose export from the Layer sub-menu.
